After the recent launch of Tata Safari Storme, now the company is planning to launch the enhanced version of the same. The company is taking this initiative in order to compete with the rivals in SUV class mainly Mahindra XUV 500 which has already made decent sales in Indian market. The recently launched Tata Safari Storme was a comeback from Tata Motors taking its traditional popular car after a decade. This car has already grabbed many automobile crazy minds and in addition to this, some more features would be added to make it best in its class.

The refreshed version of Tata Safari Storme is expected to have upgrades in the engine, features and interiors. It is speculated to get all new premium interiors which comprises of dual-tone leather seats, dual-tone door flaps and re-designed dashboard. Other changes inside the cabin, it will additionally have a premium sound system developed by Harman Kardon which will have a sub woofer, amplifier and surround speakers, due to which Safari Storme will be the first Indian car to have a specially designed complete sound system.

The Harman Kardon audio system will come equipped with 10-speakers, along with touch-screen navigation system support. Also the upgraded Safari is expected to get a new set of alloy wheels which is inspired from bigger brother Aria. Coming to the technical specifications, it would be powered with same 2.2-litre VARICOR diesel engine but will get a power boost with a maximum power of 160bhp at a maximum torque of 400 Nm (from the current version producing 140bhp and 320Nm of torque), proving it to be the most powerful vehicle of its segment.

Now come to the big news, with a trend of automatic transmission in premium cars, the Safari Strome is likely to come equipped with an 6-speed automatic transmission, something the XUV does not have. The automatic gearbox will be designed by the world renowned ZF Friedrichshafen AG, the specialist automotive engineering company. ZF is the same group that designed world’s first 5-speed, 6-speed and 9-speed automatic transmissions and is offering its services to various major auto companies in the world.

Apart from the above upgrades, there are rumors on the web that suggests the Safari Strome will get a new 6-speed manual gearbox to pump our more horses from the engine and slight changes in the exterior design. However, all we can do for now is keep our fingers crossed and wait for the new variants of the Safari Storme !
