The above seen are the firstever pictures of the new 2013 Tata Nano, it was snapped during the shooting of a new ad-campaign in South Mumbai by Overdrive magazine reader named Mr. Shubhankar. You can see, Tata Motors effort is to give the Nano slightly more upmarket look and feel. The 2013 model has a very little or no change in the styling of the car, most of which are at the rear.

Interestingly, the 2013 Nano incorporates the looks of the Tata Nano Concept that was showcased at the 2012 Delhi Auto Expo. It includes chrome strip on the bonnet lip, a similar strip just above the rear bumper, and a ventilated rear bumper. It is expected to have a boot space at the rear but we can’t see any external provision to open it, perhaps it is opened through a release mounted near the pedals.

On the inside, the car might come with added features and an upholstery change. The interior changes included dual speakers integrated in the dashboard, the dashboard will also have two glove boxes as a standard which was earlier seen in the special edition. There are also good chances that the car would come with a slightly revised instrument cluster.

The mechanical change on the petrol variant of the 2013 model is unknown at the moment. The company will also offer a few more engine options such as a diesel and one powered by CNG. This will of course help the Tata Nano reach out to a much wider audience than before in India. Powering the Nano diesel would be an 800cc diesel engine that also does duties on the Tata Ace though without a turbocharger.
