Italian luxury car manufacturer, Maserati has dropped the first images of the new 2013 Quattroporte sedan ahead of its official debut at 2013 North American International Auto show, Detroit. As of now, the company has only released a bunch of photos of the new sedan, but hasn’t revealed any details. The 2013 Quattroporte will be directly compete with the likes of BMW 7-Series, Jaguar XJ and Mercedes-Benz S-Class.
The styling isn’t much different from the outgoing model, a few changes are seen like the roofline which appears much sleeker now, front glass which is steeply raked and wheel arches which don’t cut into the rear doors are part of the new design package. At the rear, a new exhaust system design and horizontal tail lamps round off the exterior styling updates.
The interior has undergone a major change compared to the current model, the result being a much more luxurious look and feel. High-quality woods and leathers are used throughout, and much of the major controls are operated by a large central touchscreen on the centre console.
The company reveals that an all-new powertrain hidden under the hood of the Quattroporte , the sources on the web believe that the car will have the new version of the 453bhp 4.7-litre V8 engine which is used in the GranTurismo sportscar. Most likely, the engine will be mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission.
