We are a week away from the 2013 Detroit Motor Show, and to build the hype for its third car based on the MFA platform – the 2014 CLA sedan, Mercedes-Benz leaked some official new photos of the new car. The images are 1/18 scale Diecast CLA model of the yet to be officially revealed Mercedes-Benz CLA.
The CLA sedan shares many parts of the A-Class sports hatchback, especially the interiors which have picked up many bits from the A and B Class to make a sporty and high quality finish on the inside of this car.
The Mercedes CLA will be available in 4 engine variants – CLA 180 with 122 bhp, CLA 200 with 156 bhp, CLA 250 with 211 bhp and a diesel CLA 220 CDI with 170 bhp. Customers can also have an option for the 354bhp-450Nm CLA 45 AMG variant.
After its official launch at the Detroit 2013, the CLA sedan is expected to be launched in Europe and the United States a few months later. It will only be launched in India a few weeks after that. The CLA sedan will be available with a 1.6-litre turbo petrol engine and a 1.8-litre turbo diesel engine. It is expected to get a 7 speed-dual clutch gearbox as standard on both petrol and diesel engine variants.
The CLA Sedan will be priced from the range of Rs. 18 lakh to not more than Rs. 25 lakh in the Indian market. It is supposed to be the cheapest Mercedes Benz sedan ever, mainly targeting the young and first time buyers of the Mercedes-Benz cars. The German luxury car manufacturer has ensured us the design of the car remains youthful.
