Launch dates revealed for the Tata Hexa, Kite-5 and Nexon

Tata Motors’ plans for the future look really promising. Tata Motors displayed quite a few good vehicles at the Indian Auto Expo in February, at Delhi and the good news is that most of these vehicles will actually go into production. More specifically, three of their products’ launch dates have been revealed.

The Tata Hexa, Tata Kite 5 and the Tata Nexon will definitely go into production. While the Nexon will still take some time to be produced, the Kite 5 and the Hexa are Production ready and are just waiting for final approval by the Chairman, Cyrus Mistry and the new CEO, Guenter Butschek.

Of the three, the first to be launched will be the flagship Crossover, Tata Hexa. Tata’s earlier Crossover, the Aria did not do very well in the market, but it’s replacement, the Hexa, looks quite promising indeed. An all-new design on the outside, redesigned interiors coupled with the use of better materials on the inside and a new Drive-Train has all come together to make the Hexa a really good product. The Crossover is loaded to the gill with features and with all intents and purposes, is definitely looking forward to dethrone the Mahindra XUV 500 which is the Hexa’s main rival.

The second car to be launched is the Kite 5. The Kite 5 is a Compact Sedan version of the recently launched Tata Tiago hatchback and I must say it looks very attractive. It has a flowing, yet sharp design language. While the exterior’s design is different from the Tiago Hatchback, the Interior’s design will remain the same as the hatchback. The Kite 5 will be powered by the same set of engines as the Tiago hatchback, the 1.05 liter diesel engine and the 1.2 liter petrol engine.

Next up is the Tata Nexon compact crossover which was only a concept at the Auto Expo, and hence it will have a later launch date, as the development is still taking place. The Tata Nexon will take on the Ford Ecosport and the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza and is likely to be powered by an all new 1.5 liter diesel engine developed in-house by Tata.

While the Tata Hexa is expected to be launched by July this year, and the Kite 5 is expected to be launched by the festive season, around October/November this year, the Nexon will be the late arrival here, with launch slated around Mid-2017.
