Spied – Front fascia of new Chevrolet Spark facelift

New Chevrolet Spark facelift

As we reported a month ago, the upcoming new Chevrolet Spark is expected to adopt styling cues similar to what was showcased in the Auto Expo 2010 by the electric Spark. Now it is confirmed, thanks to the Motobash’s reader Kaustubh Nipunage for the firstever spy pics revealing the front-fascia of the new Spark spotted in Pune. The previous scoop only revealed the rear portion of the car.

From the images, it is evident that the new Spark adopts Chevrolet’s traditional styling cue – the twin-port honeycomb grille and a bigger Chevrolet logo (already seen in Cruze & Beat also). Also the car would feature a new fog lights and new front bumper. However, it is surprising Chevrolet has ignored the car’s rear. From the image shot earlier reveals that no alterations have been made to the rear of the car.

On the inside as well, the car has been rendered some minor tweaks. The new Spark would be a pure facelift with no minor or major changes in the engine specifications and other mechanics. The next on the cards for GM India is Chevrolet Sail hatchback slated to launch on October. While the facelifted version of the entry level Chevrolet car in India, the new Spark is said to be launched in November, 2012.

What we say? The current Spark is powered with a 1.0-litre engine, which gives a mileage of around 12kmpl in city and 16kmpl on highway, which is actually lower than that of both the competitors, the Alto and the Eon. So this should be the most important department, on which General Motors should work.
