TVS Motors has launched a powerful version of its popular moped, the XL Super, it’s called XL 100 with sales limited to the Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand, priced at Rs. 29,198/- (ex-showroom, Allahabad).
The all-new TVS XL 100 is the most affordable two-wheeler in India, built keeping in mind the requirements of the farmers in the rural sector. The larger 100 cc moped is the advanced version of its 70 cc outgoing moped, but retains the design and utilitarian features from the XL family. It gets new fresh attractive body graphics with 5 body colour option – Black, Red, Green, Blue and Grey.
Compared to the 69.9 cc XL which was 2-stroke moped churning-out 3.5 PS of power and 5.0 Nm of torque, the all-new 99.7 cc XL comes with a 4-stroke engine, thus, no need to add 2T oil. This unit produces 4.2 PS of power and 5.0 Nm of torque mated to auto wet clutch system. TVS Motors claims a mileage of 67 kmpl on this gearless moped.
The moped boasts of a rugged-built chassis, heavy-duty shock absorbers, broad twin seats and removable pillion seat, hooks provided to tie the parcel at rear, external and lockable fuel-tank, centre stand, spoke wheels, silencer guard, loud DC horn, bright multi-reflector headlamps and indicators, it is the best bet when it comes to endurance and long hours’ journey.
The XL 100 ensures improved safety with its 80mm front and 110mm rear drum brakes. It has fuel tank of 4-litres (including 1.3-litres reserve). Sadly, the buyer has to shell-out an additional amount of Rs. 1,000/- for accessories like saree guard, leg guard, seat cover and number plates (front and rear).
