Honda CBR150R scheduled to launch by end-March, bookings open now!

Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) has commenced bookings for its much awaited CBR150R, which was unveiled at 2012 Auto Expo held at Delhi. The company has started the production of the bike too at its plant in Manesar, in Haryana. Honda CBR150R will be officially launched by end of the March or early April 2012.

The Japanese two-wheeler major aims to roll out a first batch consisting of approximately 750 bikes by the end of March 2012. The CBR150R is powered by a 149.4cc, four-stroke, single- cylinder engine which delivers 18bhp. The engine is mated to a six speed manual transmission produces a peak power of 18 PS and a peak torque of 12.6 Nm.

 

4 Shades available in 2012 New Honda CBR150R –

New 2012 Honda CBR150R Standard will be available in two shades:

  • Black with Pearl Sunbeam White
  • Sports Red with Pearl Sunbeam White

New 2012 Honda CBR150R Deluxe will be available in two shades:

  • Black with Candy Palm Green
  • Vibrant Orange with Pearl Sunbeam White colour

 

For now the company has not revealed the price of CBR150R, but, it is expected to be priced at Rs 1.20 lakh. It will compete with the likes of Yamaha R15 V2.0 and Bajaj-KTM Duke 200. Meanwhile, Honda sales counters continue to bustle with 43,000 bookings accumulated for the new Dio scooter, in the six weeks since its launch.

The company hopes to sell more than 3,500 units of the CBR150R every month after its launch. Currently, Yamaha’s R15 version 2.0 clocks sales of around 3,000 units per month. (See the Honda CBR 150R Walk around video below the jump )
