We brought you almost all coverage about the 2012 TVS Apache RTR, but what remained suspense is the date of launch? Now even the suspense over the launch of the new TVS Apache is coming to an end with a surprise. As TVS Motors on its Apache Facebook page has stated that it will be launching the new Apache on April 23, 2012(today).

About the all new Apache, this is what TVS has revealed, “The all-new 2012 TVS Apache Series RTR features an all-new split footrest design, on the lines of international motorcycling standards. The rider footrest gets a sporty heel protector. The best part? The legendary Apache ergonomics remain untouched, even after a radical redesign.”

Last week, Hosur-based TVS Motor Company has created quite abuzz around the new Apache by releasing a teaser image of its flagship motorcycle which looked like a beast from distance. But as usual, no matter how careful company tries to protect their motorcycles’ details before launch, spy pics emerge on the internet before the official launch almost in every case.

From the pictures, it has disappointed us that upgrade on the new Apache RTR series is just cosmetic with the engine specs remaining identical. It has been updated with the new fairing at the front, which is quiet unaccepted due to no improvement in boosting power and torque, it shows that the motorcycle would lose its edge of high power to weight ratio.

While the faux carbon fibre accents and tri-colour(Indian Flag) stickers on the tail piece are visible on the spy pics. Such tri-color stickers are already seen in Ducati Monster which features Italian colors. The new Apache also gets solid decals and graphics which has appeared a change on the tank. Also the pillion footpegs are now different and offered with an all-new metal items and that what we call a welcome feature as the existing motorcycle does have it only on the rider’s footpegs.

Rumour mills had earlier suggested a possible of a 200cc or a 250cc motorcycle from TVS, and now is abounding that the facelift would cost you Rs. 5000/- more. If yes, is it worth going for the 2012 TVS Apache RTR. What do you say? Do leave your comments…
