Yamaha’s quarter-litre sports bike, rumoured to be called the FZ25 or FZ 250. This upcoming bike has been spotted testing in public roads and is scheduled to be unveiled on January 24, 2017, as per the officially released teaser image.
The company was missing its range of motorcycle in the fastest growing segment in the India market – the 200-250 cc segment. Not only this segment is seeing good sales, but has also been reporting rapid increase in sales over the past few years. Now its not too late for the Japanese brand to foray into this segment, instead is the right time!
From the spyshots, it is evident that the new Yamaha naked motorcycle will be priced extremely competitive unlike the R3 which retails for Rs. 3.5 lakh on-road. It draws styling cues from the current FZ series, and borrowed parts like discs, foot pegs, number plate holder, etc from existing Yamaha machines (i.e. R15, FZ).
The new Yamaha naked motorcycle Yamaha’s first offering in the 250 cc segment is likely to be powered by a 250 cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine that will likely churn out around 20 BHP and 20 Nm of torque, while being mated to a 5-speed gearbox.
Noteworthy features include an optional ABS, premium upside down forks at front, mono-shocks at rear, split seats, dual disc brakes, a fully-digital instrument cluster, automatic headlamp on (AHO) and an FZ family inspired exhaust canister.
