Volkswagen India has officially announced that it will showcase three all-new products at the Auto Expo 2016, which will be held from February 5-9, 2016 at Greater Noida.
These will include the all-new sub-4 m compact sedan, the Tiguan SUV and the Passat GTE hybrid sedan. The major highlight of VW India’s stall will be the sub-4 m sedan based on the Polo hatchback and Vento sedan, which is reported to be called the VW “Ameo” when it goes on-sale.
Another product will be the all-new 2016 VW Tiguan at the biennial event, ahead of a market launch expected sometime in 2016. The new Tiguan is expected to be a CKD import and will be positioned slightly more premium than the Hyundai Creta. The third product will be the regular version of the 8th-gen Passat sedan featuring a 1.4-litre TSI petrol engine combined with an electric motor.
The Passat GTE will not only showcase the carmaker’s plug-in hybrid technology but will also offer a preview to the new Passat. The company plans to introduce the 8th-gen Passat in India later this year. Other products from the Volkswagen pavilion will include the recently launched new Beetle, the Jetta, Vento, Polo and Cross Polo.
