Swedish luxury car maker, Volvo Auto India launched the new S60 Cross Country in India prices starting at Rs. 38.9 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai without Octroi).
Based on the same platform as the S60 sedan, the S60 Cross Country comes with off-road capabilities the chassis is raised by 65 mm to achieve the SUV-like ground clearance of 201 mm and gets All-Wheel Drive system as standard. It also gets a black theme in the lower portion, matte silver scuff plates at either-end and different set of alloy wheels wrapped in fatter rubber.
The new S60 Cross Country stands out in a crowd, and fills the gap between SUV and sedan. The vehicle has been named as Cross giving the new sedan completely a new and rugged look with spacious cabin. Features include cruise control, reverse parking camera, Hill Start Assist, tilt and reach adjustable steering wheel, rain sensor, Tyre Pressure Monitoring System and Navigation.
Compared to the S60 sedan, the new S60 Cross Country gets de-tuned 2.4-litre, 5-cylinder turbocharged (D5) unit that produces 90PS and 420Nm instead of 215PS and 440Nm that you’d get with the standard saloon. The engine is mated to a 6-speed automatic gearbox, while power is transferred via an all-wheel drive system. It sprints from 0–100 kmph in 8.8 seconds and can hit a top speed of 210 kmph.
A total of 5 colours are of offer – Rich Java, Osmium Grey, Oynx Black, Crystal White and Bright Silver.
