TVS working on Apache 160 facelift, launch in mid-2018

TVS Motor Company is developing a facelifted model of its aging Apache RTR 160. Launch is scheduled to take place at around mid 2018, as per reports. The bike has been spotted undergoing testing on numerous times since July this-year.

And this will be no surprise, and the bike is also said to be launched at around the same time as the flagship BMW G310GS. It is more likely to be styled similar to the Apache RTR 200 4V, which has a distinct design. Details are yet to come out regarding a facelifted Apache RTR 180.

The bike will carry features like Telescopic front Forks, LED headlamp and tail lamp and a backlit LCD display digital console. Engine is supposed to be the same 159.7 CC air-cooled one giving 15.2 bhp of power and 13.1 Nm of torque. There may also be a minor engine tweak on the cards.

TVS recently launched its much awaited RR 310 flagship, but not long ago, they even introduced a colour of ‘Matte Red’ into the entire range of Apache motorcycles. When launch, the Apache RTR 160 will compete with the Suzuki Gixxer, Bajaj Pulsar NS160, Honda CB hornet and Yamaha FZ-S FI V2.0. Expect the bike to be priced aggressively, and be exciting to watch.
