TVS Star City MS Dhoni edition

TVS Motor Company has launched a new, MS Dhoni special edition version of its Star City commuter motorcycle. The bike is being launched with a complete festive theme based advertisement, to complement the oncoming season. Mahendra Singh Dhoni will be seen along with his wife Sakshi in the advertisement which is based around the festive theme. The TVS Star City sells at a price of Rs. 39,245 (Ex-showroom price, New Delhi).

What’s new? Apart from getting Black colored alloys wheels, suspension and exhaust heat shield, the Limited Edition Star City also gets the signature of the current Indian cricket team captain M.S Dhoni on the visor of the motorcycle.

It’s powered by a same 110 cc 4-stroke motor which produces 8.1 BHP of power at 8.1 Nm of torque. Mated to a 4-speed manual, the StaR City weighs just 100 kgs. The TVS Star City is one of the few motorcycles in the market today, to come with a 5 year, 50,000 km engine warranty and has sold over 1.2 million units within three years of its launch.

TVS Star City features a mobile charger socket located in the headlamp fairing of the motorcycle and also the fact that it has one of the largest fuel tanks in its class with a 16 liter capacity. This effectively means that the Star City has a range of over 1,000 kilometers on a single tank of fuel, a figure that will be hard to match by most if not all motorcycles.

“This limited edition StaR City motorcycle is unique. It is the first time that TVS Motor Company is releasing a specific, festive theme based advertisement. Another first is that this advertisement has been directed by award winning US based Indian film makers Raj Nidimoru and Krishna D K, makers of ‘Shor in the City’ and ‘99’. Yet another first is that brand ambassador Mahendra Singh Dhoni will feature in the advertisement along with his wife Sakshi,” H S Goindi, President Marketing, TVS Motor, said.
