TVS Motor’s Chairman – Venu Srinivasan revealed at the 23rd Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the company on July 29, 2015 that they would be launching 3 new products in the next 6 months. The 3 new products include an all-new TVS Victor, a new four-stroke moped, and the much awaited Apache 200.
There were rumors that the bigger Apache is scheduled for this festive season, but some blogs posted that the flagship Apache motorcycle will hit showrooms by October-2015. However, there are no confirmed reports at this point of time, but today the launch of new TVS Apache 200 within next 2 months was confirmed by India’s youngest female stunter Anam Hasim, who is currently on a sponsored trip by TVS Motors, further, she accidentally mentioned that the Apache being tested is a 200cc motorcycle.
It’s almost confirmed that the highly-awaited new generation Apache will be based on the Draken-X21 concept that was unveiled at the 2014 Delhi Auto Expo. This concept will form the base for the Apache 200 and will share many parts with it. The Apache 200 is likely to be called ‘TVS Apache RTR 200’ will rival against the two tough street fighting machines available in India viz. Bajaj Pulsar 200 NS and KTM Duke 200.

Under the skin, the Apache 200 might derive its power from a rebored version of the Apache RTR 180’s engine. This single-cylinder 200cc air-cooled engine will be mated to a 6-speed gearbox, come equipped with fuel injection and produce peak power just under 25PS. Undoubtedly, the bike will get a mono-shock suspension set-up at rear and new-age features. And like its younger sibling, the Apache 200 too might offer a ABS (Anti-Lock Braking System) as an optional feature.
