Triumph is one brand which has had quite a few ups and downs in the Indian market. Operating in the premium motorcycle segment, Triumph will be celebrating its fifth year of operations in India. To commemorate that, the manufacturer will be launching six new models in its line-up by June next-year.
Though it is not yet confirmed which of them will come here, we can expect it to arrive soon. We reckon the new Speed Twin and Tiger series may be among these, since they are due for an upgrade soon. These will be assembled under Triumph’s Indian CKD facility located in Manesar.
Triumph at present consist of 16 dealerships across India. The manufacturer is working on making it 25 in the next 3-4 years, also concentrating on various Tier II cities. Triumph are also likely to conduct various programmes and customer camps in those areas to spread awareness on the brand.
This will be an ambitious effort, but nevertheless a one worth taking in the fiercely competitive premium motorcycle segment. Triumph will aim to grow by 10-12 per cent every year, for which it has its task cut out. It remains to be seen how will the British manufacturer cope up to the growing demands of the Indian public in a landmark year for them.
