New Toyota Glanza is a Maruti Suzuki Baleno, first pictures out!

Just 3 days after, Toyota Indian shared a teaser video of the first product to be born out of Toyota and Suzuki joint venture. Today a couple of spy pictures of the Maruti Suzuki Baleno-based Toyota Glanza is out. This was revealed by a Team-BHPian named Karan Carguru, which he says is spotted at a dealer’s stockyard.

Pictures of first cross-badged product from the Suzuki-Toyota alliance is finally-out, the Toyota Glanza.

The new Glanza is basically the same thing as the Suzuki-made model, and features the same revised styling. On the outside, to differentiate, the Toyota Glanza gets a different, chrome-embellished grille and different badges that lends it more of a Toyota family look, but that aside, it’s exactly the same as the facelifted Maruti Baleno.

There are no changes along the side, and the Glanza even wears the same alloy wheels as the Baleno. We will not be surprised, if the interior will remain highly unchanged, with the possible changes expected on the upholstery and the colour trim. The infotainment unit might also get slight changes.

Toyota Glanza’s engine options will likely only include a K12B 1.2-litre VVT naturally aspirated four-cylinder petrol engine.

Under the bonnet, you’ll find the same 1.2-litre BSVI-compliant K12B motor that powers the Baleno mated to a 5-speed manual and CVT options. There will be no diesel option available on the latter. The Glanza will be sold with a 3-year/1,00,000 kms warranty, like what’s offered on other Toyota models in India. The Maruti Suzuki Baleno, in comparison, comes with a standard two-year/40,000 kms warranty.

Unsurprisingly, the Toyota Glanza will be costlier than the donor car Maruti Suzuki Baleno when launched on June 06, 2019, and will be on-sale in two grades: G and V.
