Tata Motors is preparing to showcase some attractive products at the 2018 Auto Expo to take place in February. Apart from the Q501 SUV and Nexon Automatic, the home-grown automaker will unveil the Tigor Sport. The Tigor Sport will be a sportier version of Tata’s compact sedan, the Tigor.
Recently, Tata Motors teased the Tigor Sport and this has made automotive enthusiasts excited on what the company is up to next. The Tigor sport will be based on the latest 2.0 design philosophy inherited by Tata Motors. This will mark Tata Motors entry to the performance car segment in India.
On the front, the car will get smoked projector head lights, a new grille, new fog lamps and a sportier bumper. The Tigor Sport is expected to carry 15-inch alloy wheels and is expected to get an all-black interior. Interiors will feature a multi-functional steering wheel and a touch-screen Infotainment system.
The Tigor Sport will be powered by a 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder, Revotron engine that produces 110 BHP of power and 170 Nm of Torque. It will come mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox. Tata Motors may introduce an automatic variant in the future.
Launch is expected to take place at the end of 2018. The Tigor Sport is expected to be priced aggressively, given Tata Motors track record on pricing. It will be produced jointly by Tata Motors along with Jayme Automotives with both parties signing a partnership pact in 2017.
