These second set of spy photos of a Tata Nexon (Osprey/X104) prototype should be a big relief to diehard Tata fans. That’s because the photographer managed to snap a few shots of the prototype’s undercarriage, revealing a high-ground clearance setup that’s still favored by off-road enthusiasts.
There have been plenty of rumors regarding the Nexon, stating that this compact SUV is just a Zica on high-heels. However, the new spy picture puts an end to any such rumors has it looks quite roomy from the outside, as in case of most Tata products. Further a higher ground clearance of about 180-190 mm with a promise of having a better road presence, is evident from this spyshots.
Powertrain details are mostly speculative at this point, though rumors suggest the Zica’s 85 PS/114 Nm 1.2-litre Revotron 3-cylinder petrol engine and a 75 PS/190 Nm 1.3-litre Quadrajet diesel engine will makes its duty. Also we would love to be surprised by a new in-house developed 112 PS 1.5-litre Revotorq diesel engine, if this engine makes its debut in this compact SUV.
Tata Motors is expected to unveil Nexon compact SUV at Auto Expo 2016 in February and it is estimated to have a price range of INR 5-6 lakhs (ex-showroom).
