Tata Motors showcased Anti Terror Indoor Combat Vehicles at Def Expo 2012

Apart from the new Tata Safari Storme GS (General Service) 800 and the Tata Safari Storme Armoured, Tata Motors have displayed a host of vehicles catering specially to the needs of the defence in the country and have launched four new vehicles such as the Tata 12×12 Prahaar Missile Carrier, Light armoured vehicle, Mobile Bunker and Tata 6×6 Refueler at 2012 Defence Expo, held at Pragati Maidan

Also on display is the first of its kind Tata Micro Bullet Proof Vehicle which is a mobile combat vehicle specially designed for indoor combat within the precincts of airports, railway stations, bus terminals and other sensitive and high danger areas. The vehicle is being jointly developed by VRDEDRDO and Tata Motors to provide India’s commando forces with a vehicle that will assist them in indoor combat. Considering the situation prevalent in the country, such a vehicle is of prime importance specially in tackling terror situations in closed confines of hotels, multiplexes and malls.

The vehicle is fitted with bullet resistant panels, compact dimensions and is capable of easy turning and movement in limited spaces. Added features include its stair climbing facility and firing posts to take care of retaliatory action.
