Tata Motors replaces Honda Cars India’s No. 4 Spot in May 2017 sales!

News has come that Tata Motors has dethroned Japanese counterpart Honda SIEL Cars India at 4th place as far as passenger vehicle sales are concerned in the month of May-2017. This news comes as a big relief for the home-grown automaker, who have implemented a new strategy in making cars that is currently doing wonders for them.

The top 3 slots are occupied by Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai and Mahindra respectively, while Tata Motors had beaten Honda Cars India to grab No.4 spot in May-2017.

The car maker sold 12499 units of its vehicles, which is a 22.18% increase from last-year. As of Honda, sales tumbled at 11,278 units despite an increase of 13.30% from the same time last-year. The increase in sales for Tata Motors is largely due to the success of its new offerings, the Tiago hatchback, Tigor compact sedan and the Hexa MPV.

At the heart out this change in thinking is Tata Motors revolutionary ‘IMPACT’ design language, which has received a good market response and will also spawn future models, starting from the compact SUV, Nexon, to be launched in Diwali this-year. Meanwhile, Honda has also seen some positive numbers over the past couple of months due to the good response for its facelifted City and new WR-V compact crossover, both of which currently command a waiting period.

The top 3 slots were occupied by Maruti Suzuki India, Hyundai and Mahindra respectively. With GST set to be introduced from 1st July this year, expect car prices to be more affordable and the cars set to be launched (4 in next 2 years) by Tata Motors, these could be a factor that car work in the Indian automakers favour to boost its sales.
