Suzuki Motorcycles India yesterday launched the much awaited fully-faired version of the Suzuki Gixxer 155 called the ‘Suzuki Gixxer SF’. This is the cheapest full faired motorcycle on-sale in India and the company is promoting it as ‘The Street Sport Bike’.
The naked Gixxer’s single headlight unit fits well on the SF!
The Gixxer SF based on the naked Gixxer and features an ‘aerodynamic sports fairing’ for a MotoGP-inspired look. The company tells that the Gixxer SF’s fairing has been developed in the same wind tunnel as the one used for the Hayabusa, GSX-R and Suzuki’s MotoGP racer. Apart from the fairing, all other essential styling elements on the SF remain identical as the naked counterpart.
The mechanical bits too remain unchanged and propelling the SF is the same 155cc single-cylinder air-cooled carbureted engine from the Gixxer. This mill churns out 14.6 BHP @ 8,000 rpm and 14 Nm of torque @ 6,000 rpm mated to a 5-speed gearbox. The company claims an ARAI certified fuel-efficiency of 63.5 kmpl with the added support from Suzuki Eco Performance (SEP) technology.
The all-digital instrument console looks awesome on the Gixxer SF.
Even the features have been left untouched and the SF gets similar features like its naked sibling with the fully-digital instrument console, rear-LED tail light, grab rails and dual-barrel silencer. The naked Gixxer’s single headlight unit fits like a missing piece into the SF’s fairing, so is the side panel and rear fender.
The Gixxer SF is available in 3 colours namely Pearl Mirage White, Glass Sparkle Black and Metallic Triton Blue (Special MotoGP Edition). The MotoGP model is a special edition paying tribute to the Suzuki’s MotoGP racing return this year and costs approx. 2k more than the regular shades (White & Black). Based on the street-fighter version of the Gixxer that is currently on-sale, the Gixxer SF is priced at Rs. 83,439/- (ex-showroom, Delhi).
