Spyshot: Next-Gen Chevrolet Cruze Spied Again

General Motors has now taken its Chevrolet Cruze to Sweden in order to test the small Sedan for some cold weather testing. As per the recent spyshots obtained from AutoEvolution, the next-gen Cruze is still fully camouflaged. Looking into the spyshot, it is clear that the next-gen Chevrolet Cruze is still under development and its launch would be delayed until 2015.

Further looking into the spyshots, the next-gen Cruze has not got a major makeover. Perhaps the company would retain its razor sharp look in the next generation also. The next-gen Cruze would be built on an all new D2XX platform which would also be used in the next generation Opel/Vauxhall Astra and Chevrolet Volt & Equinox.

Although the car is fully camouflaged, it appears that the next-gen Cruze would feature skinnier headlamps, large front grille and new LED tail lamps resembling the BMW models. Although technical specifications of the vehicle are still not available, the next-gen Cruze is expected to be powered Opel’s 1.6-liter SIDI Turbo engine under the hood.

Mr. Mark Reuss, President of GM North America reported that “the next generation Cruze will blow you away. The styling will be more aggressive. Next generation Cruze will be an improved product in all the parameters of the current car. The engine line up for the new model will be retained from the current line up. Chevrolet will launch the next generation Cruze by the end of 2015.”
