It’s no secret that Renault India has several models planned from its CMF-A+ platform that currently includes the Kwid and Triber. One such model is the Renault Kiger (codenamed: HBC) sub-4 meter SUV, which has been recently spotted heavily camouflaged.
The spy video suggests the upcoming Kiger could borrow design cues from the facelifted Renault Kwid. The car appears to have a to twin-slat grill with slim triangular lights on either side. The central tri-pod headlamps are located lower down on the front bumper. At the rear, the Kiger has a sloping windshield with a shark fin antenna and a wiper on the bottom. On 5-spoke alloy wheels, the car is riding.
According to reports, sometime in the second half of 2020 the Renault HBC will be launched with a different name, of course. It’ll make its debut at next month’s 2020 Auto Expo, where Renault is taking part.
The Kiger should sit on the CMF-A+ architecture as the Renault Triber. A 1.0-liter turbocharged petrol engine mated with either a manual or automated manual transmission (AMT) could be offered. Multiple reports suggest that for better performance, the french car maker is planning to introduce the HR10 motor in the Kiger.
