Volkswagen Polo has been around for quite some time now and has easily become a favorite amongst drivers who love to drive. VW has continuously made improvements to the Polo to make sure that the buyers are satisfied with their ride. Recently VW launched the Polo GT TSI with a 1.2-litre Turbo charged petrol engine to boost the performance of the petrol variant. Now, to make sure that the buyers who choose diesel options are not disappointed VW will be launching the Polo GT TDI.
Recently some spy shots of the Polo GT TDI were shared by Team-BHP member “tushky” showing the exterior and the interior of the VW upcoming line-up. Although the interior is similar to the GT TSI and have the same color combination of black and grey upholstery and the all black dash with chrome trim around the air conditioner vents. What really is the attention seeker is the gear shifter, it was earlier speculated that the GT TDI might carry a DSG automatic gear box, but instead, the power will be transmitted via a 5-speed manual gear box. It was also speculated that the Polo GT TDI will be powered by the 1.6-litre diesel engine currently used in Vento. But in order to be classified as a “small car” and to keep the price under control VW is working on downsizing the engine to 1.5-litre.
The expected launch of the Polo GT TDI is by the end of this year or early-2014.
