Mahindra & Mahindra has been working on a cut-down variant of Verito sedan for quite some time now. Recently the folks at Mahindra officially revealed its new sub-4-metre Verito is named ‘Verito Vibe’ and is scheduled to launch in May-2013. Now Here are the first uncamouflaged images of Verito Vibe which shows the front and rear quarter of the new Mahindra car in great detail.

To take advantage of lower excise duties, the company has designed the Vibe to be less than 4-meters in length so as to price the vehicle competitively. Mahindra has converted its 3-box Verito sedan to a 2-box hatchback in the Verito Vibe, at the front its looks similar to Verito sedan but the highlight of the Vibe is a huge tail-light section at the rear, but the overall design appears to be outdated.

From the spy pictures, the Verito Vibe is seen with a touch of sporty features including roof rails and dual-toned rear bumper. The vehicle also sports added detailing seen on its rear above its number plate and a unique design seen on its reflectors on the bumper. Where its front design is concerned, the Verito Vibe bears strong resemblance to the Verito sedan with lack of fog lights and chrome grilles and carrying rather basic, and minimal interior updates.

On the inside, the interiors are same but there are few changes in the color treatment. For example, the aircon vents have black accents while that of the Verito have silver garnish. The seat fabrics appear to be of a different tone. The brushed aluminium finish around the aircon and audio controls are replaced with conventional black trim. The knobs are tipped in chrome.

Under the hood, the Verito Vibe will continue with its 1.5 liter K9K diesel engine offering 65 bhp power as is seen in its sedan counterpart while the company does not have any plans in the offing to introduce a petrol variant. Once launched, Mahindra Verito Vibe will directly compete with the likes of Hyundai i20 and Maruti Suzuki Swift.

As per AutoCarIndia, Mahindra Verito Vibe hatchback is estimated to be priced around Rs. 5.75 lakh (ex-showroom) for the base model.
