Honda India is all-set to launch of its new sedan, after the decent sales of the Honda Brio. This new Sedan is expected to hit the Indian market on the 11th of April which would be the sedan version of Honda Brio being named as ‘Honda Amaze’. This would be the first diesel car by Honda in India and also the company’s entry into the compact sedan segment.
Coming to the interiors, it has been provided with dual-tone beige and brown color with a touch of silver to the door handles that can be also seen in Brio hatch. Its small central console features circular AC vents on either sides. Its instrument console and 3-spoke steering wheel is very stylish and futuristic. Honda has not disclosed the boot capacity of Amaze but it certainly looks more spacious than any compact sedan.
Talking about the technical specifications, it comes powered by a 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel engine or 1.2-liter i-VTEC petrol engine. The 1.2-liter petrol engine is expected to give 12-13 kmpl and 16-17 kmpl mileage in city and highway respectively, whereas the newly introducing 1.5-liter diesel engine is expected to give 15-16 kmpl and 19-20 kmpl mileage in city and highway respectively.
The aerodynamic design of the Honda Amaze would certainly help the car during the drive and deliver easy controlling to the driver. To assure this, Honda is performing several test runs to make sure that it would be suitable for Indian roads. Continuing about the specifications it would also have ABS, Electronic brake force distribution system and brake assist, dual-SRS air bags, central locking system, 2-Din audio system which will have USB, Aux-in and iPod interface.
