Friends I’m tired of posting an article on the upcoming Yamaha R15, because face lifted R15 spied so many times now, the whole topic is bordering onto boring. Seriously, with all the spy photos since last December, the excitement for this bike now seems to be diminishing. Come on Yamaha, what is it exactly that you are waiting for?
Now again Mr Vaibhav Saigal, as spotted the latest and the clearest photos of the new Yamaha R15 on road tests in the NCR(National Capital Region) belt. The latest image showcases the R15 in red colour and looks similar to the ones spotted before. Now it’s almost certain the new Yamaha R15 will be getting a significant power boost, otherwise Yamaha won’t test the bike for so long to ensure engine reliability.
Looking at the spy pictures, the new Yamaha R15 seems to have plenty of differences visually when compared to the current version. Firstly, the wider rear wheel and the new alloy rim design of the new R15 are the most prominent changes. The side fairing also sees a change and so does the rear cowl of the new Yamaha R15, which makes for a more aggressive forward leaning stance. This apart, the R15′s engine crankcase also sees a new black powder coated color scheme.
The bike has been caught testing, as well as in production ready avatars quite a few times. Yamaha India, however, have still not said anything officially about the new version and the company maintains a mysterious mum whenever poked about the new version of the bike.
Posted below is the video of the bike being tested on Noida roads after a jump. Frankly speaking not much is seen of the bike in the video… Instead more importance seems to have given to the speedo of the car (doing 120 kmph) rather than capturing video of the bike.
