Toyota’s mainstream product of Indian market has been updated. Autoincar posted the new spy shot photos of 2012 Toyota Innova. A facelift of the Toyota Innova MUV has been spotted on the roads of Indonesia. The spy images here clearly show the improvements Toyota Motors has made to the existing Innova MUV As per the photos of the car you can clearly point out the car gets some changes like new lights and a new grille. In the Indonesian auto industry, Innova is christened as Kijang.
Now the first question we ask ourselves is that, will the Japanese car maker, Toyota bring this facelift version of Innova to Indian shores? If yes, then when do we expect to see it running on the Indian roads?
The more upright grille sits more vertically than the current car and this means the bonnet looks less van like. There are new headlights that have been stretched over the fenders, and the fogs and chin are new as well. Also new is the rear bumper and all new Innovas could get parking sensors as an option as well.
The main focus on this car however will be a through update of the interior, which according to many customers is looking a bit long in the tooth. New more upmarket materials, a better looking instrument panel and more car like insides are on the cards for this Toyota. And better utilization of space is another priority, especially on the third row, which Toyota are desperately trying to make more comfortable, spacious and useable on long journeys.
While there won’t be a new engine, the current 2.5 common rail diesel will be updated and will deliver more power and torque. As ever, Toyota has been very conservative with the amount of power and torque they have extracted from their 2.5 and upping the power as a result is unlikely to be a difficult job even keeping Toyota’s legendary reliability in mind.
