The Skoda Rapid Monte Carlo edition has now been officially launched in India at a price of Rs 10.75 lakh (ex-showroom, India). Based on the top-end Rapid Style variant, it is priced around Rs 50,000 more than regular model.
The Rapid Monte Carlo Edition follows the Skoda’s claim of ‘One Nation. One Price’ and is inspired from the long heritage of motorsports. It is available in both petrol and diesel fuel trims with manual as well as automatic transmissions in two dual-tone colour schemes – Flash Red with black roof and Candy White with black roof. The bookings for the same has already commenced at all dealerships.
The Rapid is dressed up with black exterior trim on the front grille, alloy wheels, roof, tailgate spoiler, sporty diffuser, and even the 16-inch Monte Carlo dual-tone alloy wheels. It also gets gloss black ORVM housings, Monte Carlo badge on B-pillar, and smoked-out headlight with LED DRLs. Keeping in-line with its sporty exteriors, Skoda Rapid Monte Carlo interiors too get some sporty touches.
On the inside, you’ll get the leather-clad flat bottomed steering wheel and gear knob with red detailing, Monte Carlo design leatherette seat upholstery and stainless foot pedals carry over the sporty theme inside. Furthermore, you get Monte Carlo design front door sill strips, piano black AC vents and sporty textile mats with red stitching, new instrument cluster and a 6.5-inch touchscreen infotainment which is compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Under the hood, you get 2 engine options paired either to a 7-speed DSG or a 5-speed manual transmission that are similar to the standard Rapid range, which include a 103 BHP/153 Nm 1.6-litre DOHC MPI petrol engine with ARAI Certified mileage figures of 15.41 kmpl (MT) and 14.84 kmpl (AT), and 108 BHP/250 Nm 1.5-litre TDI diesel engine returning 21.72 kmpl (DSG) and 21.13 kmpl (MT). The DSG transmission comes with Sport mode and Tiptronics.
