Skoda Octavia vRS rumored to launch in India – going faster again

The latest rumor in the automobile industry is the possible launch of the performance-oriented Skoda Octavia vRS in India in limited numbers.


Skoda India is reportedly planning to re-introduce the vRS badge in the country, it was first introduced in India with the Octavia in 2004, but the new-generation Octavia hasn’t got this package to our shores just yet. However compared to the International model, the India-spec model is expected to come with downsized features and engines as well.

Unlike the Octavia vRS on international soil with a 220 PS 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol motor, the Indian model is speculated come with a 150 PS 1.8-litre turbocharged petrol engine. Additional features include 3-spoke steering wheel, sport bucket seats, darker front grille with the vRS badge, larger air dams, revised front & rear bumpers, larger sporty alloy wheels and trunk lip spoiler.

Undoubtedly, the Skoda Octavia vRS will be priced noticeably high, and positioned as the range-topper in Octavia lineup here in India.
