ŠKODA is working on a Fabia-based compact crossover

Compact SUVs and crossovers are presently moving from just being a new thing to a regular segment. Slapping on rooftop rails, knocking up the ground clearance and joining slide plates barely makes a vehicle a 4×4 fan, however that won’t prevent makers from sharing the same in the practice. Škoda will now purportedly build-up another Fabia measured hybrid which could be launched in 2017.

The Volkswagen group has been working towards the making of a more extensive SUV range for its worldwide portfolio, to better target markets like the USA. Škoda has a stand out SUV on offer i.e. the Yeti. Škoda’s initiative is focusing on 1.5 million sales in the following 5 years and the method would depend significantly on SUVs, given the desire that the worldwide SUV fragment will represent 22 million sales by the year 2020.

Škoda’s portfolio could incorporate a sum of 3 SUVs before the end of 2017, including a successor to the Yeti, another 7-seater SUV and this “Fabia hybrid” – that could make its presentation in 2016, in front of a launch in 2017. The report includes that the hybrid will be taking into account an abbreviated form of VW’s MQB platform and won’t impart its DNA to the Taigun concept either. Volkswagen is dealing with a comparable advancement as a “Polo SUV” and the “Fabia SUV” will be joining it in.
