Skoda is continuously working in order to put their cars into all possible segments in the Indian market. With the Skoda Superb facelift and Skoda Fabia in pipeline for launch in 2014 and 2015 respectively, here is one more rendering from Auto Evolution of the all new Skoda Polar which would be a Volkswagen’s Taigun based compact SUV.
The compact SUV Skoda Polar is expected to be 4.1 meters long which is slightly larger when compared to 3.86 meters long Volkswagen’s Taigun. According to the recent budget, all the cars which carry engines bigger than 1.5 liters in capacity, length greater than 4 meters and also with a ground clearance more than 170 mm are to be classified as SUVs. Due to this reason, the upcoming Skoda Polar would not have excise duty benefits. Skoda Polar is rumored to hit the Indian market in 2015 along with the 2015 Skoda Fabia.
Apart from this, the upcoming Polar would get the Volkswagen’s MQB platform. Skoda Polar also resembles lot more like Audi’s SUVs but appears to be bulkier than Volkswagens Taigun. It would also have the all new Skoda butterfly grille, edgier body line and sharp headlamps.
