Maruti Suzuki being the No.1 passenger car manufacturers in the Indian market after recently launching the much anticipated Celerio is now rumoured for planning the Celerio based compact sedan. After spotting Suzuki’s compact sedan test mule several times in China, it is clear that Suzuki is currently working on a compact sedan based on its latest hatchback recently launched.
Suzuki’s upcoming compact sedan is expected to make its debut next year and quite obviously also making it to the Indian market. In the Indian market, the upcoming sedan would co-exist with the Swift Dzire, or will be a segment lower and is also likely to cost lesser than the Swift hatchback making it the cheapest compact sedan available in the Indian market.
The interiors of the upcoming compact sedan are similar to the current generation Swift and other new Suzuki cars. Coming to the technical specifications, it is expected to be powered with the same 1.0-litre, three cylinder, K10 petrol engine as its sibling hatchback. It is also expected that the new upcoming sedan would be available in both manual and AMT transmissions.
