Honda has been competing with Kawasaki Ninja in the quarter litre displacement category for quite some time now and the company intends on locking horns with the baby Ninja with its baby Ceeber in almost every department. Be it the fully faired version or the naked street-fighter version. Kawasaki had just launched a naked version of the Ninja in quarter litre and Honda might follow them too.
The 2013 Bangkok Motorcycle Show is just around the corner and the rumour mill has just suggested that Honda might just launch the Honda CBR250R in a naked streetfighter guise. The bike might just be named as the Honda CBR250X or CB250X as per reports and will come with the same heart as its full faired sibling. The faired sibling has been denting the sales of the Ninja and now the naked version is here to dent the sales of naked Ninja.
The naked version of the CBR250R will have a bump in terms of performance on the streets as the bike will skip on the fairing part of things. Since it will witness a drop in the kerb weight, it will witness the performance going north with the fuel efficiency increasing slightly as well. It is expected to come with the same 6-speed manual transmission as well.
Honda already has the naked version of the Honda CBR150R in the markets globally and it is also expected to make way to the Indian shores soon. And a naked CBR250R would come at a lower price-tag than the faired version and if Honda prices it well, they might just be gunning for the KTM Duke 200 which has been accepted by the Indians dearly. We will just wait and see what the 2013 Bangkok Motorcycle Show has in store for us.
