Royal Enfield are all set to roll-out their much-awaited tourer motorcycle, the Meteor 350 soon. As per recent reports, the motorcycle is set to officially launch sometime in September-2020. The Meteor 350 will mark a new beginning for Royal Enfield in India.
This is because the motorcycle is worked out on the new Modular J platform having a tubular frame configuration like the earlier models. The Meteor 350 comes with new bodywork which includes better front and rear fenders, updated side panels and a new fuel-filler cap. Other than that, there is a semi-digital instrument dial, new alloys brakes, updated headlamps and tail-lamps which are easily noticeable.
On the safety front, the Royal Enfield Meteor 350 will receive ABS as standard and both front and rear disc brakes. The motorcycle was spotted undergoing testing earlier this year and Royal Enfield were even planning on launching it this April. But the nationwide lockdown imposed during the time did manage to further delay its launch and as a result, the Meteor 350 will finally arrive here by next-month.
Engine-wise, the Royal Enfield Meteor 350 will feature the BS-VI compliant motor with Fuel Injection (FI) which was earlier launched with the updated Thunderbird 350. This is a 346cc, single-cylinder engine giving out 19.8 BHP of power and 28 Nm of torque. It comes mated to a 5-speed gearbox.
We can expect the Royal Enfield Meteor 350 to be coming at a price tag around the Rs.1.65 lakh mark (ex-showroom, India). This would mean that the Meteor 350 will be slightly expensive than the Thunderbird 350, with the BS-VI upgrade contributing to the price increase. With the Meteor 350, Royal Enfield are looking to offer customers a premium yet retro option as compared to their existing model range.
