Renault’s Duster SUV clocks over 7,300+ bookings (Updated)

Renault Duster SUV

Renault India opened bookings for the Duster SUV about two weeks before the launch and since then the automaker has bagged 6,000 7300+ bookings. According to the sources on the web, the Renault Duster is not a price warrior instead it is priced correctly, and for the first time ever Renault has received overwhelming response for their product in India. This is great news for Renault India.

Currently, the waiting period for the Duster already extends to 2 months and the company aims of selling over 30,000 cars in India this-year. However, we know how car buyers cancel their booking and move on to the next car that is readily available. But it’s not in the case of Duster, as there is no other compact SUV in the market to move on to. Renault is playing the game safely for now.

At this point, Renault knows that it’s still too soon to pop the bubble. Their challenges include enhancing brand image and delivering cars to owners in time. Renault India has also announced plans to ramp up its dealer and service network from 55 currently to 100 by the end-2012. Meanwhile, It is believed that the Duster features such as air conditioning for the rear passengers as well as other safety features this have greatly attracted the car buyers towards it.

What we say? That is a really huge number for a car considering the limited sales and service facilities of Renault in India and the main reason for the Duster’s success is lack of competition. The Renault Duster will get direct competitors in coming months – Mahindra Xylo Mini and Ford EcoSport.
