The Indian consumer has shown tremendous confidence and trust in Renault brand, the initial response has been very exhilarating and the bookings are constantly increasing. We are witnessing remarkable footfalls in dealerships across all regions since the launch of Renault KWID. The innovative Virtual Showroom and the Renault KWID app have received a tremendous response across India.’

The Kwid is available in six variants – STD, RXE, RXE (O), RXL, RXT and RXT (O), and is priced between Rs. 2.57 lakh and 3.53 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). It comes with a 2 years/50,000 km warranty, which can be extended to 4 years/80,000 km. Renault is also offering complementary road side assistance for 2 years.

Currently, the Kwid only comes powered by a 0.8-litre three-cylinder petrol unit that makes a humble 53 hp at 5,678 rpm and 72 Nm of torque at 4,386 rpm. The engine is mated to a 5-speed gearbox and can achieve an ARAI certified figure of 25.17 kmpl. The company has plans on launching a 1.0-litre petrol engine version mated 5-speed manual gearbox as well as the Automated Manual Transmission (AMT).

Right car, right market, right price – the only thing that remains to be seen now is whether it has the long term issue.
