Renault India to launch 3 new models in 2019, includes next-gen Duster

Renault are looking to add three new models to their line-up by the end of next year. This is in order to counter the recent dip in sales numbers for the automaker in India. The three models are namely the Kwid facelift, next generation Duster and a compact MPV codenamed the RBC.

The 2019 Renault Duster will launch in India after the Renault RBC but before the new Renault Kwid.

Firstly coming to the RBC, Renault will officially name the vehicle by the end of January 2019. It will be based on Renault-Nissan’s CMF-A platform and will rival the Datsun Go+. It is likely to be powered by a 1.0-litre engine seen on the Kwid and will arrive in mid-2019.

There will also be the next generation Duster, expected to arrive during the 2019 festive season. It will come powered by 1.5-litre dCi and 1.6-litre diesel motors. The next generation Duster will be bigger in size than the current model and is expected to carry a host of features.

Then, there will be the Kwid facelift, also scheduled for a festive season launch. It will feature some minor changes in design and engine configuration. The Kwid will be available in both 800cc and a 1.0 litre engine options, though we can expect a more powerful one to come in the future.

Renault will look for an immediate response to their recent sales dip and let us hope that these launches work out for them. On the other end, Renault are also planning on bringing a Lodgy replacement as well as another SUV to the Indian market, but these will arrive after next year. Prices are expected to marginally increase since they will be new offerings, but the affordability factor will be maintained on all these models.
