Italian two-wheeler manufacturer, Piaggio has been very successful with its maiden scooter Vespa in the country and after this the company is all set to launch a new 125cc scooter, which is rumoured to be christened as Piaggio ‘Fly’ or ‘Flyer’. Compared to Vespa, the Fly has new age looks with more aggressive appearance and it will directly compete with the likes of Honda Dio and newly launched Yamaha Ray.

According to the trusted sources, the company might launch the new 125cc scooter in Mid-November. The Fly is said to be launched with an aggressive in the range of Rs. 50,000 to 55,000. The pictures suggest that the ‘Fly’ sports the similar body lines and styling as that of Yamaha Rio and Honda Dio. However, its uniquely positioned headlight on the front fender will retain the same signature retro styling of Vespa.

Piaggio Fly 125 will be powered by the same 125-cc engine like on the Vespa, which offers 10.06 PS and 10.06 Nm, though tuned to offer better fuel efficiency. It comes equipped with telescopic forks up front and hydraulic shock absorbers in the rear. The model will have drum brakes in front and rear, but disc brake could be offered as an option.

The company has already done the testing and is now finalizing the schedules and might soon announce the dates. Piaggio is also trying to open new dealerships across the country to match with the increasing demand.
