Force Motors has confirmed the launch of the new Force One SUV on the 19th of August, 2011, thus making the already packed August a very busy month indeed with new car launches happening left, right and centre. Force Motors has already enlisted its dealers across India. The Force One SUV will be sold by 18 dealers initially across north, south and west India.
Now, the company has revealed almost all the details about their new sports utility vehicle except official pictures. However, under the hood is the Merc OM 611 engine which develops 140bhp and 35kgm of torque via a five-speed manual transmission. This 2.2-litre common-rail turbodiesel is the same unit that powered the W210 E-class when it was launched in 2000; though a generation old, it still meets the latest Bharat Stage IV norms. The suspension was tuned by UK firm Lotus Engineering – the same company that worked on Tata Aria and Mahindra Scorpio.
Force Motors reported, the SUV will be positioned between the Mahindra Scorpio and Tata Safari, The Company also plans to launch a new MPV in 2012 and the current SUV will be replaced by an all new next-generation SUV in 2013.
It is expected that Force Motors is going to price the Force One very competitively around Rs. 12 lakhs for the base variant and 15 lakh rupees for the top end variant which will come with all the safety, comfort and convenience features.
