One of India’s older automobile manufacturer Premier Auto recently launched its latest small SUV Rio in India. Now the company is planning to introduce its diesel van Sigma in the Indian market that will have an upgraded engine and improved suspension. It will also introduce its 1.5 tonne light commercial vehicle Roadstar in India that will also comply with the new emission norms.
“Both the Sigma and the Roadstar will conform to new emission norms and also feature improved suspension, designed on customer feedback,” said Mr Atul Akolkar, General Manager, Premier Ltd. Premier introduced its SUV in South India on Thursday where it is now strengthening its dealer network. Thereafter the model will be sold in North and East India. “We have created an extremely flexible plant, which will enable us to roll out all the three — the Sigma, the Roadstar and the Rio — from the same assembly line,” he added.
The company has already received an extremely good response from Gujarat where it initially launched its model Rio. Premier Roadstar is an LCV vehicle available with 4×2 full forward control drive and complies with BS III norms currently. The current model comes with naturally aspirated diesel engine and CNG option as well. Premier Sigma is a utility vehicle in B-segment of cars that comes with 2000cc 4-cylinder diesel engine.
