General Motors India unveiled the 2012 model of Tavera at the Auto Expo 2012 in New Delhi. It will be sold as “Tavera Neo3”. The company today (21st Mar, 2012) officially launched the Chevrolet Tavera Neo 3 BS IV MPV in India. The MUV, in its face lifted avatar gets a heart transplant too, and being BS IV compliant now, can be sold in all the cities in India, including the bigger metros.
The new Tavera Neo 3 features all-new headlamps, tail lamps, stylish split front grille with chrome outlining, new designer alloy wheels, new front and rear bumpers, new color scheme for interiors, new design for upholstery, comfortable and smart centre console with single DIN music system.
Apart from the above features, the MPV also combines the handling and comfort of a passenger car with the performance and ruggedness of a MUV. “GM engineers carried out an extensive upgrade of the popular Tavera based on customer feedback,” said GM India President and Managing Director Lowell Paddock. “The result is a stylish yet durable vehicle that is perfectly suited for personal & business use.”
Under the hood, the all-new Sonalika sourced 2.0-litre TCDi direct injection diesel engine good for 105bhp of power and 262 Nm of torque. The engine is mated with a 5-speed transmission. Apart from being more powerful, the new engine is expected to be more refined as well. All variants of the 2012 Tavera NEO3 MUV ride on 15 inch wheels and feature facelifted exteriors.
As we reported earlier, Tavera NEO3 is also available in a BS3 variant with the 2.5 Liter 78 Bhp-186 Nm turbo diesel engine, and is priced at INR 6.72 lakhs, ex-showroom Delhi. The BS3 variants will be sold in smaller Indian cities and towns, as these places are yet to mandate BS4 emission norms.

- Chevrolet Tavera Neo 3 LT is priced at Rs. 10.34 Lakhs
