General Motors India has launched an updated version of the Chevrolet Spark. It is available in five variants with prices starting from Rs 3.16 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). It is powered by the same 995cc petrol engine which powered the last generation Spark. It generates maximum power of 63 bhp with maximum torque of 90 nm. The new Spark is available in 6 eye-catching shades.
The new Spark gets many changes inside-out which makes it up-to-date with other Chevy cars. Changes to the exterior include re-profiled front and rear bumpers, a new split honeycomb grille with chrome inserts, a bigger Chevy bow-tie emblem and new fog lamps. And also gets new roof rails and new reflectors for the tail lamps.
On the inside, the design remains untouched but gets a new dual-tone shade and new seat fabric. The centrally mounted instrument cluster is new and the company says it has been inspired by the wing design. The biggest inclusion is the new 2-DIN music system with USB and AUX-in facility. The 6 shades available in new Spark include; Velvet Red, Caviar Black, Linen Beige, Sandrift Grey, Summit White and Misty Lake.
These changes have been carried out by Chevrolet’s tech centre in Bangalore, which also worked on the recently upgraded Tavera. Going forward, styling updates to all its legacy models (vehicles phased out globally, but still in production in India) will be carried out at its tech centre.
