Having enjoyed an enormous success with the X6 sport activity vehicle, BMW has been toying with the idea of a smaller, cheaper, and more economical version of that car for years. And just last-week, we reported that BMW has confirmed the launch of their new X4 SAV – Sports Activity Vehicle for 2014. But at the time other than imagining a smaller X6-shaped crossover, we really had no idea what the new niche model would look like.
Now a Russian blog named Autowp, leaked a handful of BMW’s next crossover, the X4 images which is scheduled to make its world premiere at the 2013 Shanghai motor Show (on April 21). The ‘BMW Concept X4’ moniker given on the pictures of the car proves the vehicle to be a concept as of now, but the huge alloy wheels, uniquely built bumpers and chrome make it look neat and aggressive.
The face of the concept is an attractive blend of the current 3 Series sedan and the X3, while the roofline has definitely plucked right from the X6. This thinly veiled concept should carry over almost untouched when it enters production with the exception of the door handles and the overly stylized fascias and side mirrors. Furthermore, it will measure the same length as the current X3 and use the same engine lineup as well.
This is all what we have for now, other details must be revealed by the BMW soon!
