Audi is planning a major model revamp in the Indian market in order to regain some lost ground. As a result, the German automaker is currently rolling out a string of products to enhance their portfolio here. Case in point the new Q8, A8 L, RS 7 and RS Q8, all of which came to our market in 2020.

Next in line will be their upcoming crossover SUV, the Q2. The Q2 launch is officially confirmed by Audi India on 16 October, and will be the smallest of the SUV’s that will exist in the automaker’s line-up. Audi first revealed the Q2 back in 2016 during the Geneva Motor Show.

Unfortunately, India did not get the model globally launched in 2017. Now Audi feel that it would be ideal to eventually bring the Q2 to India. The model heading our way will be the facelifted version of the car, which made its global debut recently.

Audi have also opened the bookings for the Q2 across the country. The automaker will be accepting Rs. 2 lakh as booking amount for the car as of now. The Audi Q2 can now be booked either from the automaker’s official website or from the dealerships that exist.

Engine-wise, the Audi Q2 will derive its power from a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol motor. This motor is capable of making 188 BHP of power and 320 Nm of torque. It will be coming mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission having Audi’s famed all-wheel drive system, the Quattro.

To go with it, Audi will also offer an attractive ‘Peace of Mind’ benefit on the Q2. This includes a 5 year service package with a 2+3 years extended warranty period. There will also be a 2+3 years roadside assistance program that will be available with the package.

Prices for the Audi Q2 will likely be announced during the time of its launch. The Audi Q2 will be competing against the likes of the BMW X1, Volvo XC40 and the upcoming Mercedes-Benz GLA in the premium crossover SUV segment here. Audi will hope to get the better of their rivals with the Q2, which indeed very promising right from the outset.
