After recently launching a teaser, Bajaj Auto has revealed that the eagerly awaited, fully-faired Pulsar RS200 (formerly Pulsar 200SS) will be launched on this Thursday 26th March, 2015 and this news has brought joy to many who have been waiting for a really long period of time for this motorcycle to be launched. The fully-faired offering from Bajaj lineup was first showcased at 2014 Auto Expo held at New Delhi in the form of ‘Pulsar 400SS’.
The RS200 is younger sibling of the Pulsar 400SS. Based on the Pulsar 200NS, the RS200 takes its design inspiration from the Pulsar 400SS Concept that resembles the 400SS to a great extent and the only differentiator was the RS200 badges at the rear. Although the bike was spotted testing even before the official debut at Auto Expo, it took Bajaj a little more than a year to bring itself to launch it in India, surprisingly the company has unveiled the Pulsar RS200 in Indonesia and Turkey but not in India.
The Pulsar 400SS commanded a lot of attention at the Auto Expo as it was the first Pulsar to be launched with a full-fairing, and the design had a few critics as well as lauders. There are quite a few people who loved the motorcycle and who cannot wait for this motorcycle to be launched in India. While we understand that it is hard to wait for a new bike to be launched, we find the owner of this particular motorcycle a little too impatient in waiting for Bajaj to launch the full-faired Pulsar version.
The motorcycle we see here is a Yamaha Fazer, but the owner has gone ahead and customized it heavily in order to make it look like the Pulsar RS200. The level of detail in modifying this motorcycle is evidently immense and shows that a lot of effort has been put in by the owner to make it look like this. The details of the owner are not known, but we have a few pictures of the bike.
Up-front, the Fazer has been fitted with twin projector headlamps, complete with an LED daytime running light strip which looks exactly like the ones on the pulsar 200SS displayed at the Auto Expo. The turn indicators have been lifted off the KTM Duke 200, which are the same ones on the RS200. While the bike has been modified to look like a Bajaj Pulsar RS200, the owner has not forgotten that it is a Yamaha and has oddly added an YZF decal near the visor up front.
From the side profile, a heavily modified fairing has been added and tank recesses have been created to make it look exactly like the pulsar RS200, the tank recess also has a bit of extra design touches made out of plastic fibre. While the overall design looks fabulous, the tail section with split seat does seem a little too small compared to the rest of the motorcycle. The rear mudguard and tail lamp has been borrowed from the KTM 200 Duke, and another really nice touch is the panel integrated turn indicators under the pillion rider’s seat.
Other details include a modified handlebar and a green paint job with matte black/carbon fiber vinyl covering some of the parts to make it look sportier. Do you like the idea? Let us know in the comments section below.
