Maruti Swift DZire, which was launched earlier this-year is to get a reboot to challenge the yet to be launched Honda Brio Amaze diesel compact sedan. The DZire has already won many hearts with its looks, low price and specially thanks to its mileage. An official from Maruti Suzuki has confirmed that it’s planning on improving the current DZire and the new version will come out during the festive season. It’s still unclear as to what the new changes will be, We don’t expect any major structural changes as the prices will remain the same.
As the DZire comes under 4-metres in length it qualifies for small car excise duty benefits. If DZire were to modify its features, then increasing the rear legroom would be a good idea as it will provide more comfort to the rear passengers. Some cosmetic changes on the headlamps and taillamps would also be nice, though we won’t be expecting any technical changes to the car.
The Swift DZire is on-sale at a starting price of Rs 4.9 lakhs for the petrol variant while the diesel variant costs Rs 6.02 lakhs. If Honda Cars India were to launch its Honda Amaze’s price anywhere close to these figure, then Honda will emerge the winner in this competition between Maruti and Honda.
