As we reported earlier, Maruti Suzuki has today officially released the teaser image of Ciaz being moved to Nexa to be sold alongside other premium offerings at NEXA chain. This will be the biggest boost as it will mark the entry of Ciaz into Maruti’s premium outlet.
Although no specific date has been released by the car maker, the official launch is expected in early next-month. However, the car will just get minor changes dropping ‘Maruti Suzuki’ lettering and variant badges. With no added equipment, visual change or engine tweak, the NEXA-based Ciaz will be priced between Rs. 7.73 lakh and Rs. 10.52 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) as it does now.
No mechanical changes will be made to the Ciaz during its move to NEXA. Power-train are expected to be untouched with 1.3-litre diesel and 1.4-litre petrol engine options. Both these engines will be available with a 5-speed manual gearbox as standard, while the petrol will also be offered with a 4-speed automatic.
The trusted sources close to us state that the facelifted Ciaz is delayed for the first-half of next-year, might be unveiled at the 2018 Auto Expo in February. Maruti Suzuki adds that the success NEXA has received is phenomenal and in line with their expectations.
