Maruti Ritz Automatic to be launched with a price of Rs. 6.15 lakh

Maruti Ritz Automatic - 001

Earlier last-month, Maruti Suzuki had disclosed all the information about the upcoming Ritz automatic variant, and now they have updated the price on its official website. The company has now confirmed that both the metallic and non-metallic paint versions of the Ritz AT will cost Rs 6.51 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).

The Ritz AT is Maruti’s third automatic gearbox-equipped model in India. It will compete with the likes of the Hyundai i10 automatic and the Honda Brio automatic. And like the Dzire automatic, the Ritz auto will be made available on VXi Trim only, but if you look at the price difference between the VXi MT and VXi AT, it’s about Rs 1.5 lakh.

Under the hood, the Ritz AT comes powered by the same 1.2-litre MPFI petrol engine which powers the petrol manual variants, but will be mated to a 4-speed automatic gearbox, instead of the 5-speed MT. This engine will be healthy enough to give out peak power output of 83Bhp along with 114Nm of peak torque with an ARAI certified mileage of 17.16 kmpl.

The Ritz AT will be facing a tough fight from cars like Honda Brio AT and Hyundai i10 AT. But when you compare all three vehicles, the Brio AT has the most advanced automatic transmission system, and offers the best-in-class fuel economy. However, being a Maruti product, the Ritz AT will not disappoint the consumers and will be able to survive in the market with utter success with a decent price tag of Rs. 6.51 lakh.

Maruti dealers have started taking bookings for the Ritz automatic with a booking amount of Rs 50,000. Deliveries will commence by January 15, 2013.
